Ninja Parade Slips Through Town Unnoticed Once Again
Once in a while you get the opportunity to take part in something that is truly special. In Modesto CA, that special something is the annual Ninja Parade. It is a very unique and special event. Unlike so many other parades where people camp out for days just to see floats and marching bands (Rose Parade...anyone), people attend the Ninja parade just to have a chance at maybe getting a glimpse of the Ninjas. Since 1984, the masses attending the parades have only seen the Ninjas once, and only for a few seconds. The Modesto Ninjas are extremely talented and skillful. They can move in and out of people traffic without ever being seen. But this does not stop the people from attending the parade each year in droves. To them, the Ninja parade is a sort of challenge. The fact that the Ninjas are rarely seen is the element that drives people to keep looking for them. It is very similar to the UFO phenomena. People from all across the world believe that they exist and are subsequently looking for them even though their existence has never really been proven as fact. We even have teams of scientist whose sole purpose is to find and make contact with aliens from outer space. I now there have been many eye witness reports of UFOs and a whole lot of sloppy video recordings, most of which are proven to be fake, but where are the cold hard facts? Until we shoot a flying saucer down or capture an alien, there's no real proof. Now you might be saying, since there hasn't been a Ninja sighting in over 20 years, how do we know that they exist? Well, as you saw (or will see) from the news video at the head of this passage, we get a small glimpse of a Ninja (or what appears to be a Ninja) at the top right corner of the screen. Now I know that image isn't much more convincing as some of the UFO images caught on camera, but because of when and where the sighting occurs, it gives credulity to the notion that the Modesto Ninjas really might exist. Then again, an image alone is not enough to constitute absolute proof. For that you would need to capture one of the Ninjas' alive. And since you have a better chance of winning the lotto then seeing one of these Ninjas in person, let alone capture one, there may never be absolute proof. Do you believe in the Modesto Ninjas? Note: If these Ninjas are in fact real, they must be extremely confident in their abilities if they think that they can just waltz down main street during a parade in their honor and expect to pass through unnoticed by everyone. They must be arrogant as well.
